for our Youth, our Families, and our Communities.
The
field of Sexual Abstinence Education is a relatively new approach to the
problem of promiscuous sexual activity. For decades, America's attempts
at "teen pregnancy prevention" have failed and the rates of sexually
transmitted diseases have become epidemic. Each year, the consequences of
unwed sexual activity cost us thousands of lives and billions of dollars.
The
Abstinence Resource Centre was created in response to a need for high
quality, factual, user friendly resources related to sexual abstinence.
Our goal is to assist providers and recipients by making educational
materials accessible and decreasing duplication of efforts.
We
believe true abstinence education is more than saying "No" to a behavior.
It's about increasing self-awareness, self-respect, and self-control.
Through this, young people can develop into happy, healthy adults.
We
have a variety of resources available or can assist you in designing your
own. Posters, bookmarks, brochures, pledge cards, incentive items, booth
materials, billboards, tv/radio ads...if we don't have it, we'll help you
find it - or create it.
Free presentations are available for Montgomery County youth grades 6-12
but will be modified to the needs of the individual audience.
We also have a free resource library if you'd like to borrow materials
such as curriculums, books, and videos.
